<!-- end left side bar --> <!-- story content : start --> TWO women who were shopping at NTUC Fairprice in Jurong Point Shopping Centre had their handbags stolen on Tuesday. The thief made away with the handbags left in different unattended trolleys between 12pm and 12.45pm. In the first case, a 46-year-old housewife was shopping for groceries when she noticed her handbag was missing as she approached the cashier.
She lost S$200, RM$70, her handphone and other personal belongings. The second, a 33-year-old housewife, had placed her daughter in the trolley seat, and hung her handbag in the trolley. When she was not looking, her four-year-old saw a woman take her mother's handbag, containing $50 and other personal documents.
A search for the thief was made, but to no avail. The woman is described as dark-complexioned, slim and short haired. Anyone with information should call the police at 1800-255-000. The police advise the public not to leave their belongings unattended.
