Train delays are serious problem. Imagine, if a soldier book in late and got charged for AWOL, if workers report to work late and got fired, if passengers miss their flights; can they quote her 'explanation' and walk away in this society? Who's the culprit and what action has been taken? what sort of contingency plans do SMRT has in place? all these need to be explained to the public. A simple incident like this can show the arrogance of the ruling party and their GLCs, they just need to utter a few words and the matter is closed and the people will be punished for their mistakes; truly a double standard.

the north-south line of the sg mrt runs at 2-minute intervals during rush hours. 2-min interval is the tightest schedule anywhere in the world. anything less than 2 minutes is asking for accidents between trains.

how is your wife doing? still taking trains? get her a car, for crying out loud.

SMRT have not been running at 2 mins interval for a very long time for the n/s line. True there are a few occations where trains are 2 mins apart but that is rare and far between. Usually its a pair comes in at 2mins then follow by 4 to 6 mins interval. The reason being the turn around station at Jurong does not have the speed to to turn around the trains so fast. Hence how? Lan Lan lor some of the trains at the n/s line have to turn around at Yishun to relief the pressure at Jurong. So those staying above Yishun lan lan sometimes have to come out and take the train behind

In other words, the system was not designed to handle mindless FTrashisation of Peesai lah! Which makes u wonder why the PAPee dogs are the BEST PAID in the world.

not so bad lah. over here in the bay area, the wait is 20 mins at peak and the fare is at least usd11 round trip between fremont and sf. the trains in ny stink and the stations reek with sewage and rust. in tokyo, you can rub bodies with fellow riders, and women have asked to ride in women-only cars because they almost always get groped or have their skirts ruffled. in paris, the lines are old, and there are very few escalators for the old, preggy and handicapped. the problem in sg is not with the frequency or fare. like i said on another thread, it's the sudden surge in population, lack of lines to serve the bloated new towns, and lack of transfer points due to lack of a good network of lines to re-distribute and load-balance the traffic.

Anyone who has travelled off peak hours can tell you the frequency between the trains is MORE than 2 minutes apart. Claiming that it runs every 2 minutes is false propaganda:mad:

If you take the NS line, you'll often hear announcement of trains being taken off service at the angmo kio station which is nearby the MRT depot. This happens frequently even during the evening peak hours

I repeat, regime change is the only long term solution to Spores transportation woes. The PAP is motivated by profit$$. As long as they are in power they will keep on importing foreigners indiscriminately.

MRT system will continue to be run to maximise profitability which means packed trains vs public transport run as a social responsibility.

Many problems in Spore can be traced to PAP policies, if you want improvements you'll have to hold the leadership responsible. This means to vote them OUT. If Sporeans were to do that do you think there would be room for underperformers like LKY, LHL, Ho Ching,...

Waoh I did know that passenger have to get down from MRT and continue journey on next MRT train in the same route/way unless change direction/line. 1st time I heard this.
I don't this MRT operate at min interval in peak hour. I think on average would be 4 min because can see MRT running on track every morning very clearly.
