Fyi, tuition fee is not set by the respective polys but by MOE itself.

Just checked, SP also the same.

The question is that why is the tuition grant of SGD 13,600 from MOE the same for singaporeans, PR and international students?

shouldn't MOE give less subsidy for PRs and foreigners?

Have you oso check on the placement agents/companies that source for these students from overseas? Their fees is substantial and many dangle the carrot that it can be offset by the tuition grant..... so indirectly MOE is paying the agent fees of these foreign students.

This is where it is not understood by Singaporeans... these international students signed a bond to work in Singapore for certain number of years.

If they work in Singapore, they pay no more than $4300.

If they do not work in Singapore after graduation, they need to pay the full amount $13,600.

My friend's husband is a Malaysian, studied at NTU at subsidised tuition fees but signed a bond to work in Singapore for 3 years.
