SINGAPORE: A mini bus driver was given the maximum fine of S$1,000 for failing to keep a proper lookout while driving, resulting in the death of a 69-year-old pedestrian.
Forty-six-year-old Mohamed Razali Mohamed Isa has also been disqualified from driving all classes of vehicles for six months.
Razali was reversing his mini bus at around 10.30am on February 19, 2008 along a car park driveway at Yishun Street 71, when the vehicle hit Mr Annasalam Vendayah.
Mr Annasalam was flung onto the road and was semi-conscious when he was sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
He suffered multiple injuries and died six days later, on February 25.
On top of the fine, Razali could also have been jailed up to six months.
