Not necessary, depending what kind of business you are doing. CPF will say is good for you. At the end of the day, when you grow old, you will be hospitalised one day. How are you going to pay for your health care. That is the question. Nevertheless, your Medisave will never be enough for any major operations. So buy Insurance.

I know that CPF is sneaky & downright dishonest

They told my mother who was in her 80's it was good to contribute into the CPF I was there & heard them make the "recommendation"

You have to ask them direct question e.g.. is it a criminal offence. Don't be put off by their double talk, keep at it until you get an answer. Don't be afraid to escalate to one of the supervisors if the person you are talking to is blur. I know its troublesome but its better to clarify the rule, otherwise you may kenna something unpleasant

Just pay interest on the amount owing lor....... but they will try to inconvenience you in other ways.....eg. dun allow you to renew your vocational licences / permits etc or IRAS pay extra attention to your business.....
