A 28-year-old man was sentenced to a maximum of three years' jail last Wednesday for making a hoax call to the police.
The court was told that Mohamed Rafi Mohd Noor called the police at around 5.10pm on May 10 this year and told them he wanted to commit suicide.
But he never intended to kill himself.
Over the last 10 years, Mohamed Rafi has been in and out of jail for the hoax calls that he made.
Mohamed Rafi, who is unemployed, suffers from Hospital Addiction Syndrome, a rare psychiatric disorder also known as Munchausen Syndrome.
His motive in making those calls was to get himself admitted into a hospital, so that he could have the care and consideration that he craved.
