<!-- end left side bar --> <!-- story content : start --> A MAN who hacked into his previous employer's online payment account and cleaned out about $60,000 was jailed for 24 months on Friday. Lee Kai Peng, also known as Eddie, 31, admitted to accessing the PayPal account of Success Resources and induced PayPal to reduce the cash balance of the account by $11,773 on each of four occasions on June 19 and 20 last year. PayPal, wholly-owned by Ebay, is an e-commerce business for online payments and money transfers. Lee, a Malaysian and a permanent resident here, was an employee of Success Resources from April 2005 to November 2008. He had the login ID and password of the company's PayPal account as he was also in charge of information technology-related matters. He started his own events and seminar organising company in September 2008. Last April, he ran into financial difficulties with his company and planned to syphon from his boss' PayPal account. Lee, who had three other charges taken into consideration, could have been jailed for up to 10 years on each of the four proceeded charges.
