Man gets amended murder charge after victim dies from injuries

SINGAPORE: A man who was initially charged with causing grievous hurt is charged with murder on Thursday.
Fifty-year-old Chan Lie San's original charge was amended after the alleged victim, 35-year-old William Tiah Hung Wai died in hospital on Tuesday.
Chan is accused of intentionally causing the death of Mr Tiah between January 14 at about 11.20 am and January 21 this year.
He allegedly caused Mr Tiah to suffer head injuries at Lorong 18 Geylang.
If convicted, Chan faces the death penalty. - CNA/nd
