Man charged with slashing <!--10 min-->

AN UNEMPLOYED man was charged on Monday with slashing a young Chinese national on Sunday. No plea was taken from Neo Yong Heng, 22, who is remanded for psychiatric assessment. He allegedly slashed Ms Lu Fang Fang, 21, on her left wrist and finger with a flick knife at the void deck of a block of flats at Jalan Rumah Tinggi. Neo will be back in court on Nov 16. If convicted, he faces a jail term of up to seven years or fine or caning or any combined sentence.
