SINGAPORE: A 21-year-old man has been charged with a series of motorcycle theft offences.

Muhammad Hindra Hisham also faces other charges, including riding a motorcycle without a license and displaying forged registration numbers on motorcycles.

Hindra is accused of stealing a motorcycle at a multi-storey car park on April 3 this year, at about 2.30am.

He is believed to have an accomplice.

He also allegedly stole a motorcycle at a car park in Yishun on May 24 this year at about 9.30pm.

Three days later, Hindra allegedly repeated the offence at a multi-storey car park at Jalan Tenteram, at about 1.30am.

His other alleged offences were on August 11, 2010, at a car park in Ang Mo Kio street 32, as well as on October 7, 2010, at Ang Mo Kio Industrial Park.

Hindra is also accused of trying to steal two motorcycles at a car park in Jalan Bahagia in June this year at about 1.30am.

For each of his motorcycle theft offences, Hindra faces up to seven years' jail and a fine.

For attempting to steal a motorcycle, he faces the same penalty as stealing a motorcycle.

And for riding a motorcycle without a license, he can be jailed up to three months.

For displaying forged registration numbers, Hindra can be jailed up to one year and fined S$2,000.

His case will be heard again on November 5.
