Man arrested for stealing from temple donation box

SINGAPORE : A 28-year-old man has been arrested for stealing from a temple donation box.
The suspect is believed to have stolen from the temple at Boon Lay Drive several times.
A temple worker had reported to the police twice in the past few weeks, that someone had stolen the money from the donation box which was placed at the temple entrance.
The suspect was arrested at 1.30am on Friday after police found him behaving suspiciously in the vicinity of the temple.
He admitted to the thefts upon questioning.
He will be charged in court on Saturday.
For stealing, he faces up to 3 years' jail or fine, or both.
For criminal trespass, he could be jailed up to 3 months or fined, or both.
