Man arrested for drink-driving after car overturns near Balestier

A car crashed into a cement pillar on the pavement and overturned at Jalan Rajah, near the junction of Deroyale Condo early Wednesday morning (Oct 7).
Koh, who witnessed the accident, wrote in to citizen journalism website Stomp and said:
"The driver and a female passenger were trapped. Fortunately, a passer-by helped to open the car door and the driver managed to get out.
"It took some time to drag the woman out and screams could be heard. The driver looked fine, but the woman's neck or back seemed to be injured."
A police spokesperson said that the police received a call at 12.34am, informing the police of an accident that took place at the junction of Jalan Rajah and Jalan Rama Rama.
The 33-year-old female passenger was conveyed conscious to Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) while the 39-year-old male driver was arrested for drink driving.
Investigations are still ongoing.
