SINGAPORE : Police have arrested a 57-year-old man for breaching the casino exclusion order and for using another person's identity to enter the Marina Bay Sands (MBS) casino.
The man was detained at about 7.10pm on Tuesday.
Investigations revealed that the suspect had used another person's identity card to gain entry into the casino to avoid detection as he was under the Commissioner of Police Exclusion Order.
The police said the owner of the identity card will also be investigated for allowing his card to be used by the suspect.
The suspect will be charged on Thursday.
If convicted for using another person's identity card, he could be fined up to S$10,000 and jailed up to 10 years.
For breaching the exclusion order, he could be fined up to S$10,000 and jailed up to 12 months.
The police said they would not hesitate to take action against identity thieves and will continue to come down hard on those who remain recalcitrant despite having been banned from entering the casinos.
