Locker thief jailed for stealing items from True Yoga

SINGAPORE: A locker thief who hit two yoga fitness outlets was on Thursday sentenced to 12 weeks' jail.
Forty four-year-old Kerk Leng Chiar admitted to stealing items amounting to S$24,600 from the lockers at True Yoga outlets located at Pacific Plaza and Ocean Financial Centre between March and June 2012.
Kerk faced 16 charges of theft but prosecution proceeded on eight of them.
The rest were taken into consideration during sentencing.
So far, close to S$19,800 worth of stolen property have been recovered.
Kerk, who is unemployed, could have been jailed up to seven years and fined on each count.
