Police have arrested a 30-year-old man on Wednesday in connection with a series of loanshark harassment in Hougang, Serangoon and Ang Mo Kio.
Officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division, while on anti-crime patrol in the vicinity of Hougang Ave 3, spotted the suspect carrying a bag and behaving suspiciously.
They found in his possession loanshark-related paraphernalia including pieces of paper containing suspected debtors' records, a can of paint, permanent markers, gloves, plastic bags, a cap and a mobile phone containing debtors' records. He was then placed under arrest, with the items seized as exhibits.
The suspect is believed to have committed several cases of loanshark harassment by splashing paint and scrawling loanshark-related graffiti on the walls of Housing Board blocks in Hougang, Serangoon and Ang Mo Kio housing estates, said the police in a statement on Wednesday.
