I only care that Sam Tan wins. I don't care for margins.
the margin of victory is an important measurement of the mandate from the people. it is said in GE2005, LHL was not happy that he only won 60%+ against the WP suicide squad, and he demanded a votes recount.
In the Singapore system, even if a candidate wins by 0.0001%, he takes it all. PAP dominates parliament not by margins, but simply by winning in nearly every ward it contests in. There is no second prize (other than NCMP post) in politics.
Margins is just for cock-stroking. Have fun waiting for another four to five years after losing by a whisker.
Ask Tan Cheng Bock how it feels like to lose by just a whisker to KFC.
