Killed over pay dispute

<!-- end left side bar --> <!-- story content : start --> A WORK-PLACE dispute arising from overtime payment drove Luo Faming to kill two years ago. The High Court on Tuesday heard that the 37-year-old was seen by flat-mate Liang Yu Liang, 28, a cook, attacking the sleeping Gong Hui Long at 6.40am on Sept 4, 2008. The 27-year-old died of multiple stab wounds. All are Chinese nationals. Luo is also accused of trying to kill his supervisor by hitting her head with a hammer and setting the office on fire as she lay unconscious, about an hour later. Madam Ng Sin Lai, 57, survived. The prosecution is presently proceeding with the murder charge. The charges for attempted murder, setting fire to the offices and damaging the computers and other machines in the office with a hammer, were stood down. The trial will resume in April.
