A MAN who reversed his lorry at a car and caused his driver's door to hit three people was jailed, fined and banned from driving on Wednesday. Odd-job labourer Richard Tan, 35, admitted to mischief and two counts of committing a rash act to endanger life at Block 1070 Eunos Crescent on July 30 last year. The court heard that he was driving along Jalan Eunos when he filtered into a car driven by Ms Eudora Wong, 26. Her twin, Feudora, sat infront while her husband, Mr Siah Hwee Keong, 27, was behind.

As the victims were unhappy with the the dangerous manner in which Tan had driven, they followed him to Block 1070 and stopped behind his lorry.
There an argument broke out between Mr Siah and Tan. The two women also alighted and joined in the quarrel. Tan suddenly returned to his vehicle, and without closing the driver's door, proceeded to reverse the lorry abruptly. The victims were hit and thrown to the ground. The damage caused to the car was $9,000. District Judge Eddy Tham sentenced Tan to nine weeks' jail, a fine of $2,000 and banned him from driving for two years.
