Jailed for hurting nurse <!--10 min-->

A WOMAN who hit and abused a nurse at Changi General Hospital was jailed for two weeks and fined $1,000 on Wednesday. Wee Lian Sang, 41, an odd-job worker, admitted to striking Ms Lam Shuk Ho, 46, twice on the face at the hospital in Simei Street 3 on Aug 16 last year. She also used abusive words. The court heard that Ms Lam was on duty at the accident and emergency department when Wee was taken there in an ambulance. When Ms Lam went over to attend to her, Wee cried and turned agitated. While trying to calm her down, Wee hit the nurse twice on the face. After the assault, a passer-by came over and held onto Wee who then abused the victim. She has previous convictions for disorderly behaviour and drug possession.
