<!-- end left side bar --> <!-- story content : start --> A SALESMAN who caused damage to a doctor's car was jailed for five weeks on Wednesday for mischief. Loo Ngiap Chin, 34, was also fined $2,000 for intentionally causing alarm to Dr Loh Kwok Thye by punching the driver's window side of his BMW car along Telok Blangah Way on Dec 9, 2007.
After the hearing, Loo paid $4,842 to the 46-year-old aesthetics surgeon for the repair cost to his car. A court heard that the two men were involved in a minor road traffic accident. Loo got down from his car and approached Dr Loh who remained inside.
Dr Loh had refused to alight or wind down the window as he claimed that Loo was very aggressive. Loo then bashed up the car's tail lights, side mirrors and windscreen wipers and also scratched the vehicle. He could have been jailed for up to two years and/or fined for mischief. For using threatening behaviour, the maximum penalty is a fine of up to $5,000.
