Making the news this rainy December is the revelation that three ex-PAP MPs have set up a dormant company called Action Information Management Pte Ltd (AIM), which, in January 2011, bought the finance and computer system developed by 14 PAP Town Councils.
AIM then charged the 14 PAP Town Councils fees every month for the usage of the very computer systems the town councils developed and sold — and a report from online socio-political site TR Emeritus suggested that these charges would have to come from the conservancy fees paid by residents.
TR Emeritus also found that AIM consisted of just three people, all of whom were former PAP Members of Parliament — its chairman, S Chandra Das, and directors Lau Ping Sum and Chew Heng Ching.

(This page was dug up from ACRA)
The company had a total paid-up capital of just $2, with $1 held in shares by Chandra Das, and the other $1 owned by Lau, according to the report showing the firm’s business filing with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority.
But the major brouhaha thus far? Aljunied-Hougang Town Council (AHTC) were cut off from using the system after the Workers’ Party reigned victorious there in GE2011. And WP is facing a hard time building their own system from scratch.
Curious netizens have taken to Google Maps to find out exactly where the three ex-PAP MPs’ listed residences are located.

All Singaporeans interviewed by New Nation said they cannot believe ex-PAP MPs are not retiring to palaces staffed with servants and pet pythons while feasting on swan.
However, all said they would consider joining politics, even though it does not pay all that well.
One Singaporean, Jin Guai Lan, said: “Ex-PAP MPs must have it rough. What would I do with such a big place? Decisions, decisions…”

Did the town councils sell the software for an amount that will cover 20 years of fees? Why are the town councils providing its own support, instead of the software company? It is too sweet a deal for the PAP!

Don't forget they come cheap, & at a bargain too, remember one "fowl" said this. It is better than working in the private sector, where you make critical mistakes that cost the organization, money & embarrassment, you get the SACK!.

Whereas, joining PxP it is a lifetime employment, with free flowing incomes, even you make grevious mistakes, you still get paid, one " hobbit" comes to mind & just watch..our PALM guy, will soon resurrect with some cushy, good paid job withing the "organization".

That is why they join politics..they do not have to account for what they do... the 60% gave them the rights to make mistakes..and get away with it!!:p

Well done! Town councils adopted Queen Ho Ching's buy high sell low strategy.....

newspaper reported, NCS develops system, sells to AIM for 140k.
each TC pays AIM about $750/mth, approx 10k per year. 14 TCs = $140k in 1st year for AIM.
what does AIM do with the money? they sub-out to NCS to maintain the system.

this is how PAP gets away with "low direct taxes" for singaporeans.

what is AIM's cut?
how many techies are deployed by NCS to maintain the system?

SINGAPORE must have an Independent ICAC (Independent Commission Against Corruption) like HONG KONG that can even investigate the HK Chief Executive for allegations of corruption without fear or favour.Singapore CPIB and CAD are beholden to the PM and are not independent.

Don't always be a smart alec to lecture others or give unsolicited advice to others.Singapore has a lot to learn from other countries.
