Harry Helmi suggests that by6:30 PM, all tables & chairs should be reserved for Muslims to break their fast.

Why do Muslims need so much special/preferential treatment? You don't see the Jews do this before Hanukkah, the Christians before Easter, the Buddhists before Vesak, the Hindus before Deepavali, etc.
Because if these religious zealots don't get their ways, they will justify themselves going around chopping people's heads arbitrarily. What other religion advocate that kind of barbaric behavior?

I have seen Muslims praying and breaking fast at a HDB void deck. They surrounded an area with canvas sheets, and put a mat/carpet on the floor inside that area.

You don't need chairs or tables. :rolleyes:

They do that because weak leaders pander to their every whim, to score cheap points. They become emboldened and entitled. :cool:

Curious to know if Harry Helmi is considered an "educated Malay"..
@Loofydralb - your thoughts please
I say he is the 'modern' PAP Malay. Borderline apostate.
Ramadhan is not a time for festive and celebration. Not shopping and mall crawling. Not splurge and wasteful.
Ramadhan is time for worship and comtemplation and mindfullness about what Allah wants us to do. A time to hold our thoughts and tongue.
So his presence at a bazaar during break fast time would indicate that he would miss the sunset prayers. What good would a muslim be if he fasts but misses his prayers?
He also exhibits bad time management. A trait common among borderline apostates. Prayer and break fast times are a known information. He can't be there earlier? He can't figure out that this isn't his first time missing a table? He can't figure out what needs to be changed?
May Allah close down Ramadhan bazaars as one of the places that Allah unfavours the most is the market.

It is called Attention Whoring

In general we can pray anywhere. But the way this guy is doing it is looks like he has an agenda and virtue signaling.
We muslims should strive to make it in time to the masjid for prayers but if for some reason you cannot, then do it but not be a nuisance to others. For eg, on a busy sidewalk? Go find somewhere out of the public way which is quieter where you can focus better your prayers.
I've done it many times on a quiet sidewalk, the park etc. Just don't inconvenience others.
