30 children watched as Berhan S. (38) climbed over the fence of the school on Mainzer Strasse in Berlin-Neukölln – and stabbed two girls (7 and 8 years old) several times with a kitchen knife.
Berlin – After the almost fatal attacks on two students at the Evangelical School in Neukölln, there is a grave suspicion: Could the knife attacker be a repeat offender?
S. is said to have stabbed his then girlfriend (24) back in August 2009. say their family members. The young woman barely survived.
According to the public prosecutor, Berhan S. has now confessed to stabbing the two girls in the school yard on Mainzer Straße. The murder weapon, a kitchen knife, was still with him when he was arrested. Now he’s in the correctional psychiatric ward. On Thursday, a magistrate issued a corresponding decision.
On Wednesday afternoon, Berhan S. attacked the unsuspecting children. He stabbed an eight-year-old in the neck and a seven-year-old several times in the upper body. The older child suffered life-threatening injuries. Both had to be operated on. In the meantime, the eight-year-old’s condition is said to have stabilized to such an extent that there is no longer any talk of acute danger to life.
The motive for the knife attack on two girls in Berlin is still in the dark.
It remains a mystery why the man, who had multiple convictions for assault, drug offenses, property damage and fare evasion, stabbed the girls. Sebastian Büchner, spokesman for the Berlin public prosecutor’s office: “So far there is no knowledge of a motive for the accused.” But there are “evidence of a mental illness that may be induced by narcotics”.
According to Büchner, S. has a long drug history. There have always been anomalies in public in recent years. “But there was no evidence that he was prone to acts of violence.”
But on Thursday, the public prosecutor’s office put this statement into perspective. Because: Berhan S. has already come under suspicion. On August 30, 2009, his then girlfriend Sonja (24) was stabbed in a residential building at Hallesches Tor in Berlin. An emergency operation saved her life.
The young woman, who has a daughter with Berhan S., had told her family and the police about a mysterious masked man as the perpetrator. Which neither the police nor her mother believed. BILD said the mother at the time: “It can only have been him. He’s been beating her for eight years, locking her at home and forbidding her to get an education.”
The mother had filed more than 20 complaints against Berhan S. But no charges were ever filed! Sonja S. had exonerated him with her statements.
“Berlin: knife attack in school by ‘mentally ill adults’ +UPDATE+ Does ‘Berhan S.’ come from a ‘strictly religious family’?,” translated from “Berlin: Messerattentat in Schule durch „psychisch kranken Erwachsenen“ +UPDATE+ Kommt „Berhan S.“ aus „strenggläubiger Familie“?,” Unser Mitteleuropa, May 4, 2023 (thanks to Medforth):

In the meantime we know who the knifeman is. The “38-year-old” is “German” with a Turkish migration background and is not unknown to the police. He has a criminal record for various offences and is (of course) mentally ill, which is why he did not end up in prison, but in a psychiatric ward.
As our editorial team has already suspected, it would (of course) be unpleasant for the mainstream to have to admit that the man is, in the end, “religious.”
Let’s stick with the mainstream media and “work” through from today to the past. Let’s start with today’s Tagesspiegel:
Today’s headline:
“Knife attack on schoolgirls in Berlin-Neukölln: perpetrator to be sent to psychiatric ward – probably ill because of drug use”
and further:
“The public prosecutor’s office in Berlin sees indications that the perpetrator, Berhan S., is mentally ill as a result of drug use …”
And now let’s take a look at the newspaper Tagesspiegel 14 years ago:
“01.09.2009
After the knife attack on a 24-year-old woman in Kreuzberg on Saturday, the victim’s mother is making serious accusations against her partner. She alleges that it was he who stabbed and beat her daughter. She says he has been bullying her for years. Out of fear of her companion’s strictly religious Turkish family, her daughter had not dared to separate from the man until now. As reported in a partial edition, investigators have doubts about what allegedly took place on Saturday evening in the flat at Mehringplatz. The victim, Sonja S. – a German whose mother is Turkish – testified that the doorbell rang. When she opened the door, a man wearing a black mask stabbed her without a word. Her partner, Berhan S., was in the flat and called the police. Sonja S. was taken to a hospital.
For years my daughter has been beaten up by her boyfriend’, the mother, Gürsel S., told the newspaper, the Tagesspiegel. The couple have a daughter together (1). ‘The child is now with her family,’ she said. Her daughter had met Berhan S. when she was 17 years old. Five years ago, the man had beaten Sonja S. up during her internship in a beauty salon, she said, ‘but he and his strictly religious family kept threatening to kill her and me if she testified to the police,’ the mother claimed. According to information from the Tagesspiegel, Berhan S. is known to the police: Eleven charges of threats, several coercions, bodily harm and insults are in his file …”
Was it the same Bernhan S.?…
