Man charged with murder of Toto results announcer

SINGAPORE : A 53-year-old man was charged in the Subordinate Court on Wednesday morning with the murder of a part-time Toto lottery draw results announcer on Monday.
Fang Gao San is accused of causing the death of Mr Sito Woon Chee, 59, at around 6.40pm in front of PoMo Mall along Selegie Road.
Mr Sito was fatally stabbed 15 minutes after he announced Monday's draw results.
Fang, who allegedly fled the scene on foot, was then caught by police officers with the help of two members of the public.
Fang and Mr Woon were reportedly not known to each other.
During his appearance in court on Wednesday, Fang, who has shoulder-length hair and a bruised right eye, appeared hard of hearing as he asked the court interpreter twice to speak loudly.
He has been remanded for further psychiatric evaluation and will next appear in court on June 23.
If convicted, Fang faces the death penalty. - CNA/jy/al
