Fenerbahce demand Super Lig shutdown over bus shooting

Fenerbahce have demanded that the Turkish Super Lig be shut down immediately while an investigation into an armed attack on their bus takes place.
It is believed that shotgun-wielding attackers targeted the Fenerbahce bus as the club were travelling to Tranbzon airport from their 5-1 win over Rizespor on Saturday, although some reports have suggested other weapons were used.
The Super Lig leaders' bus driver was the only person wounded in the attack and is reported to be in a stable condition in hospital having been hit by a bullet, while the players and staff were safely transported back to Istanbul.
The club issued a strong statement on Sunday, understandably condemning the violence and insisting football in the country come to a halt while authorities try to locate the armed assailants.
"Fenerbahce think that the league must be suspended until some light has been shed on this dark attack," a club statement read.
"It is the end of football when blood is spilled. Fenerbahce's complete priority is for the culprits to be found and punished immediately."
Police claim to still have no lead of who attacked the Turkish club's vehicle, while Fenerbahce's cup clash on Tuesday has been postponed in light of the incident.
The club's subsequent Super Lig game against Bursaspor - which was due to be played Monday April 13 - has also been suspended, with no date set for when it will now be played.
