Ex-Score staff charged
By Elena Chong
A FORMER employee of Singapore Corporation of Rehabilitative Enterprises (Score) was charged with selling medicated oil to inmates at Changi Prison. Ng Chee Boon, 52, then a maintenance technician, is alleged to have sold medicated oil to five inmates at Changi Prison Complex at Upper Changi Road North eight times between April and August last year.
He is also said to have supplied one of the inmates with a disposable shaving blade. Ng, who will return to court on Sept 22, told District Judge John Ng that he intended to get a lawyer from the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme (CLAS). If convicted, he faces a fine of up to $6,000 and/or a jail term of up to 12 months on each charge under the Prisons Act.
