Some of his victims knew him as Uncle Sivam and, despite their tender years, he had no qualms touching them improperly.

On Monday, Satha Sivam Natisam was sentenced to four years in jail.

The 49-year-old had pleaded guilty in October to 13 charges of outraging the modesty of four girls, aged between three and 12 years old.

Most of the offences were committed in the Jalan Bukit Merah area between July 2010 and his arrest in February.

The single exception was the molest of a 12-year-old girl in Lower Delta Road in March 2006.

He was arrested in February after he had molested a three-year-old toddler.

The court issued a gag order on the identity of the girls.

A former cleaner was sentenced to four years in jail for molesting young girls. His youngest victim was only 3 years old.

The 49-year-old, Satha Sivam Natisam, known to some of his victims as Uncle Sivan, is single and suffers from schizophrenia.

In the latest case, he molested the three-year-old girl at a block of flats in Jalan Bukit Merah. According to The Straits Times, the child was ahead of her mother to the lift lobby on the ground floor.

The girl later rushed back in tears saying a man in an orange shirt had lifted her skirt and touched her inappropriately.

The mother later caught up with him and he admitted to molesting the girl but managed to run off.

He was later arrested by the police who discovered he had molested three other young girls.

One of her victims, a 7 year old girl fell victim three times in the playground in January and February. The eldest of the four girls was 12.

He could have been jailed for up to five years, caned or fined for each of the eight offences he pleaded guilty to.

Five other charges were taken into consideration for sentencing.

The Deputy Public Prosecutor on the case did not press for caning because Satha Sivam suffers from schizophrenia.
