So chaps now that we have hit the half way mark of a very interesting and competitive season:

1. How many points do you think it would take to win the EPL this season? Say a low 80 plus points or a high 90 plus points?

2. Would the normal 40 point magic number be enough to survive the drop from the EPL this season?

Don't have an opinion on question 1 but I think the answer to question 2 is No.
This will be one of the most nerve wracking relegation battles ever, with possibly 6 or 7 teams still with a chance of being relegated on the last day.

the biggest matchup this weekend - Manchester United vs Chelsea.
always lots of tackling and disputable decisions.

Aston Villa 2-1 West Bromwich Albion (match that completed about 30 mins ago).

EPL Top 5 Update 09-02-09

Manchester United - 56 points +31 goals +1 game-in-hand
Liverpool - 54 points +25 goals
Aston Villa - 51 points +16 goals
Chelsea - 49 points +29 goals
Arsenal - 44 points +13 goals

Chelsea is losing the plot and Arsenal has lost the plot. Bad winter in London. Looks like one of them is going to miss the ECL next season.
