Former welfare programme Coordinator Lau Yeow Hui, 32, took the money from Mr Ng Chew Chuah, 39, owner of Ming Chuan Transportation and Coach Services.
Deputy Public Prosecutor, Lynda Lee told the court that Lau had informed Mr Ng in July 2005 that the society was looking for a new transport services provider and would be inviting tenders.
Mr Ng asked for Lau's help in getting the contract and promised him cash. Lau agreed and revealed the amounts quoted by other transport companies.
Ms Lee told Chief District Judge Tan Siong Thye that Lau also advised Mr Ng on the amount to quote and allowed him to re-submit an amended quotation.
Lau pleaded guilty to three charges. 18 similar charges were taken into consideration. The case has been adjourned to Monday. Shaffiq Alkhatib
