When IOs go to court for trial, there are certain lawyers they fear. For example, Sant Singh, the late JBJ and Palakrishnan, Edmund Periera etc.
Why? Coz these chaps are very thorough in their work and will scrutinise everything the prosecution has or say. They are all very sharp lawyers. Proven material. I am afraid Peter was never placed that high in the ranking of many IOs.

PG lawyers plentiful in the market. Is it that difficult to present a mitigation plea?
Quite standard if you ask me. State accused as first time offender (if true), very remorseful, cooperated fully in the investigation process, PG at first instance, seeking treatment and counselling (where appropriate), unlikely to reoffend again, father-mother-wife-kids sad story etc.

Ah Shaw wasted his $$$. There are better ways to spend money. HFJs for instance. I bet Ah Shaw spent at least 30k for the services rendered. With appeal, likely to be 50k. Lawyers win all the time. They never lose in court. Clients loses regardless of DAQ, DNAQ etc.
