I know that powered bicycles are popular because you don't need a road licence to operate one. How about electric motorbikes:confused:
Would something like the Brammo motorcyles, real electric motorbikes be allowed in Spore:confused: Would they be legal for road use

If I not wrong.
1. Anything engine more than 25cc need license
2. Any electric motorcycle more than 200watt power need license. Electric bicylce LTA only approved 200watt and below. Many are illegal.

These motorcycles would make a good solution to get around town:smile:

The top line Empulse which is US$19,000 is rated 40kW & can reach speeds of 160 kmph for a distance of 90 to 195 km.
While their low end Enertia which costs US$8,000 has a top speed of 95kmph & a range of 68km

Pity Spore is too congested & there's just too much red tape involved.

They install cat eyes ... A device use for biscycle to check speed

cateye can measure till 100+? i didnt know that as the highest i register was ard 40km/h going downslope.

so how i dun believe your ah beng friend as limited place in spore to race to 100km/h in singapore. and it farking dangerous to try even 60km/h on bicycle tyre as it too narrow and easily lose control when going over a small pebble.

If I'm not wrong cat eyes device can measure speed up to 120km/h . Some brand have unlimited measurement too . Yes very dangerous that's why they use a special stabilizer and special fork for smoother ride . If some lamborghini can travel more then 100km/h on normal road . I'm sure those ah beng also can

By the way , they use motorbike tyre not normal tyre .. That's why I say molify biscycle .

I've reached 80km/h on my MTB before; most road bikes can reach 80km/h on flats if in the hands of a good rider.

Strangely though, most road bikers going for speed would prefer a narrower tire. It's more of the tire construction and compound than an issue with a narrower tire.

Yes, these electric bikes are getting bigger and more powerful. Some models coming closer to benzine motorbikes.

My comment is these bikes are too quiet compared to the normal benzine bikes. You cannot hear or feel them coming and all of a sudden, they are beside you. Can be dangerous on the road.

Also, not sure of the insurance coverage on these bikes.

Ohaiyo! Drift San.

These electric bikes are getting popular with foreigners here. Understand some models can be as expensive as a motorbike. There is a shop that specialise in such bikes near my favorite noodle shop. Will post a pic later if I go there for breakfast.

Personally, I will not get an electric bike because not sure of insurance coverage and also, it's dangerous because it's over quiet.
