I think we have to put things into perspective though. China is just like their fascist cousins, Nazi Germany. Kanna humiliated for years, all of a sudden developed humiliated fury. We all know what happened in Nazi Germany. For China, they are now pursuing money relentlessly. Prostitution, piracy, fake and dangerous goods, polluting the hell out of not just China but the world. This is the natural response of an humiliated people. Not that I condone their acts but I just think that while we resent or even fear them, we must also understand why they are the way they are. And of course, not all Chinese are immoral. There are always good apples in every corrupt society.

This might sound controversial but I'm apathetic to racism. What killed millions of Jews in WWII isn't racism. It's violence. Japanese society may be largely racist but its people are also peaceful and non-confrontational. Their crime rates are damn low even though their police are absolutely useless. Why? Because they have civic consciousness. Their service staff may be doing what we Sinkies think are lowly jobs but they always seem to put 200% effort into their work. Why? Because they think that it's their duty to be nice to one another.

I think a lot of people are racist bastards. I have Chinese friends who look down on Malays or Indians. Vice versa, there will be Malays or Indians who look down on Chinese people. I will not be surprised if PRC Chinese look down on us too, looking at some of their online comments.

The second part I do agree it is for economics and money, but they could have handled the situation in a more shrewd ways like the US. Japan no longer has any imperialistic views, their pacifist Constitution prevents them from going to war and their right-wing hardliners are all about defending Japan from foreigners, not expanding.
