A 43-YEAR-OLD man, who is believed to have stolen from 12 cars at Upper Cross Street was arrested on Monday. The suspect had smashed the front windscreens of the cars parked at the multi-storey carpark in Block 531 Upper Cross Street early on Saturday morning. In all, 12 cars were hit and eight cash cards were reported stolen. Extensive enquiries by police officers led them to establish the suspect's identity. The man was arrested at his Upper Cross Street home at about 8pm on Monday. Two cash cards, believed to be stolen items, were recovered.
