BY DAY, he was a laundry delivery driver; by night he was a taxi driver as well as a loan-shark runner. A district court heard on Friday that Chua Meng Soon, 51, even made use of his girlfriend to open two bank accounts he used to transfer and collect money for the loan sharks. The married father of three teenage sons, told police that he knew he could persuade her as she was 'a bit mentally slow'. Assistant Public Prosecutor Nicholas Ngoh asked for a deterrent sentence as such offences have been rising.
