A MAN hiding in the trunk of a Malaysian-registered car was discovered by Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officials as the car tried to exit Singapore at the Woodlands Checkpoint on Thursday.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the Malaysian driver was trying to help the suspected Chinese overstayer get out of the country.
The 20-year-old driver said he was promised RM500 ($210) if he ferried the passenger out of Singapore.
The driver's sister who was in the car at the time of the offence has also been arrested.
All three are currently under investigation for offences under the Immigration Act.
