Bukit Batok fire starter charged

<!-- end left side bar --> <!-- story content : start --> A MAN was charged in court on Wednesday with setting fire at Bukit Batok Industrial Park earlier this year resulting in damage of about $2 million.
No plea was taken Soh Boon Aik, 47. He is said to have set fire to styrofoam at Block 2019 Bukit Batok Street 23 at 9.54am on Jan 26. It took four fire engines, two firebikes, two Red Rhinos, four support vehicles and eight water jets to get the flames under control in 20 minutes. Soh was remanded at Jurong police division for a week. If convicted, he faces a jail term of up to seven years and a fine.
