Teen stole while on bail

GRANT Callum Pearson was out on bail for fraudulent possession and under a probation order when he breached his probation by committing theft, trespass and attempted theft. The 17-year-old Briton had also committed mischief by damaging four cars at an open carpark at Block 57 Telok Blangah Drive in the early hours of March 13.
The school dropout is currently serving 18 months' probation for theft and criminal breach of trust. On Friday, he pleaded guilty to nine charges - four each of trespass and theft, and one of mischief. Another 23 charges will be considered when he is sentenced next month.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Andrew Tan had urged District Judge Ch'ng Lye Beng to jail the youth because of aggravating factors. He not only breached his probation, but had also gone on to commit numerous offences while out on bail. The court heard that Pearson caused $380 damage to 87-year-old Loh Fook Kee's car when he punched the vehicle window at about 4.25am on March 13.
