Body of drowned man found off East Coast Park waters
SINGAPORE: A 51-year-old man has drowned after falling into waters off the East Coast Park.
His body was found at 7.27pm on Saturday, after a search that lasted all day.
Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team or DART divers kicked off the search in the morning, before handing the search over to the police and the Singapore Armed Forces’ (SAF) Naval Diving Unit in the late afternoon.
SCDF officers also sent a man with minor cuts to the hospital.
Channel NewsAsia understands he was hurt while trying to rescue the victim.
