Actually I don't understand why the government goes after sites like TRS which spreads falsehoods. All that does is provide oxygen to a site that thrives on controversy.

In my opinion the site that has done the most damage to the government is one which they own themselves viz HWZ as the CSI team that operates there don't spread lies... they do something a lot worse.. THEY REVEAL THE TRUTH.

Exactly. The govt should be confident enough to let people express his or her opinions. If the opinion is foolish, he soon loses credibility and no one wants to read his opinion.

The issue is not anti pap or pro pap. For the site to be well received, it must be credible and reflect the true opinions of forumners. Do you know why SPH's media sites, although well supported by the govt, are scorned and despised by true Singaporeans?

CNA's facebook page has about 685k likes, or 685k people following them. Even if you deduct phantoms with multiple accounts, it should still be about 500k people following them.

With TRS out of the way, PAP's dominance of the social media is very strong and it has a unmatched advantage in publicity over any opposition publicity. PAP has beaten the opposition on its own cyberspace turf. Majullah PAP!

Well, if the PAP IBs were investing resources into setting up a page such as Shut Down TRS, you know TRS has hit a raw nerve.

Had the employees of SPH and Mediacorp done their job properly, they would have revealed the truth themselves without the need for some external help. Instead, those presstitutes prefer to be propagandists and cheerleaders (PAP-speak: 'nation-building press').

Even if they wish to pursue non-academic areas like music or arts, they also need relevant paper qualifications in those fields. The news about foreigners taking short cuts with fake degrees will upset the apple cart.
