My humble apologies to all the 3 candidates of the recent Presidential Elections. My post is NOT to cast aspersions upon those proven hardworking fellow citizens who stepped forward to serve, but to show what many political analysts may had missed - the voters WILL.
Singaporeans are not stupid or dumb as opposition political & foreigners with harmful agendas had often disrespectfully disparaged against them. Singaporeans are well educated as worldwide stats had proven, & are PRAGMATIC by birth as proven by resilient forefathers & founding fathers, lessons of life passed down thru generations & not by proven failed science of eugenics.
Thus, if by some mischievous HYPOTHETICAL attempt by straight laced ELD to field a dog, a cat & Mr KL Tan for choice of president, whom will Singaporeans choose? It is a no brainer that the dog would be chosen, because:-
1. The dog can be house trained & will not shit all over the place & home.
2. The dog needs only dog food, even if expensive but will not cost much, & only a rug to sleep on.
3. Most CRITICALLY, it will guard & protect the house & bark loudly if intruders attempt to rob the house.
Mr KL Tan would not be chosen, because:-
1. He is scandal prone & will leave a mess all over the place & home. for others to clean up.
2. He needs to paid even if 50% of salary/mth as well as all other privileges from tax payer funds.
3. There is no guarantee that he can protect the reserves, as he came from another era, & may even hinder investments planning & risk management policies put up by ELECTED legislatives.
Thankfully for ALL Singaporeans, or at least the 70%, Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, a fellow Human, with proven record of service to our Nation on financial management & most CRITICALLY, serving his constituents for decades, decided to step in & won. The President is NOT a political position as some in the opposition & the insane made it out to be, but only a Ceremonial one with political constrains by ELECTED Legislatives & Parliament.
His powers are only limited within the CORRIDOR of POWER, to influence & never to directly conflict with those whom holds the real power - our Parliament, a mistake Mr. KL Tan & his deluded supporters made which sadly frightened off voters. None wants a hang Parliament where NOTHING gets done. It is NOT Singaporean political way of life.,,
As for Mr. KL Tan, no offence was or is intended. He had served our Nation well thru his service in GIC. It is a different world now. He deserves his retirement, & enjoyment to the full, even if he calls ladies beside him as pretty. He is only stating a fact & not objectifying. Even the insignificant nobody me would do the same, but I would only reserve the word 'Beautiful' for a lady whom despite any exterior physical disadvantages but proven thru numerous instances of helping out others with a heart, even if most do not realize it or acknowledge it. Our ex President Halimah Yacob, whom had serve her community & especially her multi-racial constituents for decades & then Singaporeans as President for her term, is one beautiful lady...
