This is an unusual case and falls into the category of post-decision dissonance. Better known as "Buyers Remorse". Police Investigators need to be trained in this if not great injustice to all parties concerned will be the end result. The "victim" in this case actually showed the classic signs associated with rape when she left the house including stopping a man in a clear state of panic.
Here is a real story that has an identical theme. Cisco constable has been screwing around with underaged school girls. Some of the girls were boasting about their sexual expoits to their classmates. One of their friends to be part of the gang asked to be introduced to the cisco chap. Both parties agreed to have sex at a hotel and the girl turned up and fore play began. The girl became very uncomfortable and asked to leave. The guy left her alone. She reached home in a state of panic and the Police were called. The cisco chap was arrested for attempted rape. She displayed all the signs, hair in a mess, speaking incoherently, giving info in dribs and drabs etc.
It was only after her classmates related what happened that the picture became clear. He went in for underage sex but not for the attempted rape.
In another case, a lawyer was charged for unnatural sex after being invited by a young guy and they shared the same bed. The "victim" claimed that it was not his intention. Lawyer acquitted after a trial.
I can safely say that there must be some in prison for the same reasons.

Oops yes you are right, I meant plaintiff. No longer a victim, no longer necessary to protect her identity. Besides, the episode has been devastating for the men involved. Women too must reflect upon and take responsibility for their own behaviour.

That's why guys must always play it safe. Like in a meeting with a lone girl, keep the door open and never go near any girl in the office or at a pub, unless you very sure it's safe. No idea bro. Likely his lawyer did not put in decent work for client. Something very common with lawyers here. Win or lose a case, no difference to the lawyer. Still get paid. Just curious whether polygraph test was conducted.
