3 suspects arrested in Bedok for loansharking

Police have arrested two men aged 61 and 29 years old and one woman aged 33 years old on Wednesday for suspected involvement in loansharking activities.
Officers from Bedok Police Division spotted the three suspects behaving suspiciously in the vicinity of Bedok Central on Wednesday at about 1.30 pm, while on anti-crime rounds.
After conducting a check, the officers found loanshark-related paraphernalia such as mobile phones containing suspected debtors' records and ATM cards in the 61-year-old man's possession.
He is believed to have assisted the loanshark syndicates by handing over cash to borrowers to open bank accounts and collecting ATM cards from borrowers
Preliminary investigation also revealed that the 29-year-old man and the woman are believed to have opened bank accounts and given away their ATM cards and Personal Identification Number (PIN) to the loanshark syndicates to facilitate in their businesses.
Upon their arrests, loanshark-related paraphernalia including handphones believed to contain debtors' records, cash and ATM cards were seized as case exhibits.
