3 caught for forged passes
By Vanessa Jalleh
THREE Bangladeshi workers who were involved in a racket providing forged immigration extension stamps to foreign workers have been nabbed. For each fake endorsement, they charged $20. The trio were busted when one of the men, known as Mohamed', was stopped for checks by officers from the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) in Jalan Minyak. During the check, authorities retrieved a forged work permit that did not belong to him.
They also found two suspected forged immigration Special Passes. The 31-year-old Bangladeshi was arrested. The suspect brought the ICA officers to his flat where he and two other tenants had been forging immigration documents. The other two, Abdul and Azizul, were arrested for overstaying. The three suspects were referred to the police for further investigation.
