M-cycle rider, granddaughter die in crash

A MAN and his granddaughter died in a collision between the motorcycle they were riding and a private bus near the Kranji Expressway on Monday morning.
Mr Abu Bakar Harun, 52, suffered head injuries and died on the spot, said police. His granddaughter and pillion rider, Miss Nur Rafiqah Razali, 14, was semi-conscious when paramedics arrived.
She was taken to the National University Hospital where she died about an hour later.
The accident happened at the junction of Choa Chu Kang Drive and the expressway at about 6.30am.
The 42-year-old bus driver was arrested for causing death by driving dangerously.
Police investigations are ongoing.
