Police have arrested a 26-year-old man in connection to a series of robbery cases committed at various housing estates around the country.
This, after a spate of snatch theft and robbery-with-hurt cases were reported at the housing estates of Jalan Bukit Merah, Bukit Merah View, Henderson Crescent, Hoy Fatt Road and Woodlands since July this year.
The suspect in these cases would pounce on his victims from behind, and in some cases, assault them, before making off with their wallets and mobile phones. In the latest case reported at Bukit Merah View on Wednesday, a 16-year-old teen was assaulted and robbed of his mobile phone.
In all, more than $2,000 worth of valuables were taken from the victims.
