2 teens with knife arrested
By Jalelah Abu Baker
TWO youths who brandished a knife and posed for a photograph on an MRT train have been arrested, police said in a statement issued yesterday. The teenagers, aged 16 and 17, were arrested on Oct 26 and Nov 9, and are now being investigated under the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act. They are also being investigated for gang-related offences. They are currently out on bail.
Police said one of the suspects took out the knife from his bag and posed for a photo, which was taken by one of his friends on Dec 31 last year. The young man, who was seated, had his sunglasses on and an unlit cigarette in his mouth. The other suspect, who sat beside him, was smiling. Police are also trying to locate two of their friends who were also involved in the incident.
