<!-- end left side bar --> <!-- story content : start --> TWO youths were sentenced to reformative training on Monday for grievously hurting an 18-year-old student who died four days after the attack earlier this year. Joshua Leong Wei Jun and Kan Zhan Peng, both 20, were found suitable for Reformative Training Centre but probation was ruled out for them as well as Hongkong passport-holder Liu Wing Sing, also 20. But the Community Court postponed Liu's sentencing to Jan 11 after the prosecution said that foreigners were not suitable for RTC, citing a High Court case. Judge Soh Tze Bian asked the prosecutor to check with the prisons whether Liu was suitable for RTC in view of the fact that he was a Hongkong national liable to be repatriated. All three had pleaded guilty last month to causing grievous hurt to Mr Siah Wui Xiang at an open space carpark of People's Park Centre at Havelock Square on Jan 3, and two other charges of hurting another teen, Mr Ou Wen Han. Mr Siah's friend, Mr Ng Jin Kai, 18, had earlier hurled vulgarities at Leong and his lion troupe friends for allegedly staring at them along New Bridge Road. Offended by this, Leong, Kan, Liu and Lee Chang Feng, 22, decided to confront the victims and pursued them. Meanwhile, Lee pleaded guilty in another court on Monday to grievously hurting Mr Siah; punching Mr Ou, 18, and using a beer bottle to hit the latter on the head. He will be sentenced on Dec 8.
