He was 19 and already managing a brothel. For that, he was sentenced to 18 months probation and 120 hours of community service.
Daryl Tan Wencong was arrested on July 8 last year when the Central Narcotics Bureau officers conducted an anti-drug raid at the Min Wah Hotel in Geylang.
Tan and another man, 22-year-old Cheng Wei Guang, were detained.
Six Thai passports and a photocopy of a Thai passport were found on them.
The seven Thai women were actually working for a vice syndicate operated by a man known as "David". He would post photographs of these women on the Internet to get clients for them.
The women would provide sexual services for the men.
Tan, Cheng and another man were tasked to manage the brothel at a condominium in Mount Elizabeth, Chateau Eliza.
They would deliver food, condoms and KY lubricants to the women, and also paid the rent, cleaned the rooms and took from the women what they earn everyday.
On July 1 last year, Tan and Cheng also went to pick up 30-year-old Sukana Yenjai from Changi Airport and brought her to the brothel.
But for all these, Tan was never paid. He started working for the syndicate since June 25 last year but was arrested on July 8.

Tan pleaded guilty to the charge of helping to manage a brothel and receiving the sex worker at the airport. Nine other charges such as living on immoral earnings of the sex workers, were also taken into consideration.
Tan will be enlisted into the army on March 6. He has to perform 120 hours of community service and remain indoors from 10pm to 6am when he is out of camp. His mother signed a $5,000 bond to ensure his good behaviour.
Tan is the second of the three persons who was sentenced.
Cheng was sentenced to nine months in jail last year.
The case for the third person, Francis Tan Thuan Heng, 21, is still pending.
