19 arrested in Geylang for various offences

SINGAPORE: Police arrested 19 persons in Geylang on early Saturday morning.
The suspects, aged between 21 and 49, were nabbed for various offences such as gang activities, drug offences, peddling of contraband cigarettes, immigration offences and selling of illegal sexual enhancement products.
Investigations against the suspects, comprising 14 men and five women, are ongoing.
The overnight operation covered some entertainment outlets, hotels and backlanes in the area.
Police said breaches of licensing conditions were also detected at several entertainment outlets.
Officers from Singapore Customs, National Environment Agency and the Health Sciences Authority were also involved.
