SINGAPORE - A three-day island-wide operation by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) ended on Friday morning with 100 drug offenders nabbed and an estimated $10,000 worth of drugs seized. The drug offenders included at least two suspected drug traffickers.

The drug haul included 108g of heroin, 4g of 'Ice', and other tablets such as 'Ecstasy' and Erimin-5 tablets, the bureau said in a news release on Friday afternoon.

The operation was carried out with the support of police officers in areas such as Ang Mo Kio, Bukit Batok, Choa Chu Kang, Geylang, Hougang, Kallang and Woodlands.

Investigations on all the suspects are ongoing.

The two suspected drug traffickers, both Singaporeans, were arrested in Hougang.

On Wednesday, CNB officers saw the first suspected drug trafficker, a 46-year-old man, loitering on the eight floor of a block of flats at Hougang Avenue 1. They arrested the man when he went down to the sixth floor, and a small packet of heroin and a bunch of keys to his suspected hideout on the eight floor were found on him.

The second suspected drug trafficker was a 41 year-old woman, who was also arrested inside the eighth floor unit, where CNB officers found about 48g of heroin, a small amount of 'Ice', and 22 capsules suspected to contain diphenoxylate, a Class A controlled drug under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

There were also drug paraphernalia such as digital weighing scales, empty plastic packets and improvised drug-smoking apparatus inside the unit.
